ENTERTAINMENT

Movies

The Navy Motion Picture Service provides to afloat and ashore locations worldwide. On-base theatres provide first-run movies for all patrons either free or at a minimal charge.

Special Events

A variety of events are held throughout the year including concerts, comedy shows, carnivals, sports competitions and many more. Events are available for all ages and cater to an array of interests.

Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT)

ITT serves the military by offering discount tickets to a variety of national and local attractions. Entertainment tickets are offered to suit a wide range of interests including passes to movie theatres, theme parks, museums, zoos, and venues for sports, theatre arts and concerts. ITT also offers discounts on cruises, hotels and resorts for authorized patrons.

RECREATION

Outdoor Recreation/Gear Rental

Outdoor recreation introduces Sailors and family members to outdoor activities by organizing and leading safe, challenging outings, activities, and programs like white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, fishing and camping. Recreation equipment such as tents, sleeping bags, kayaks, bicycles and fishing poles are available for check-out.

Parks and Picnic Areas

Naval installations in Navy Region Southeast are home to some of the nicest parks and picnic areas around. These parks and picnic areas are available for official and unofficial activities and events.

Bowling

The bowling program offers instructional classes, pro shops, game rooms, and food and beverage areas. They also feature open and league bowling and youth bowling programs.

Golf

MWR golf courses offer open course and tournament play, snack bars, pro shops, driving ranges, cart rentals, classes and personalized lessons, and PGA certified instructors.

Auto and Hobbies

The Automotive Skills Program provides facilities with working bay space and appropriate tools for authorized patrons to work on privately owned vehicles. The program includes the equipment and staff expertise to support an engine overhaul to a paint touch-up to an oil change. Most facilities are equipped with indoor and outdoor bays, machine shop equipment, classrooms, storage areas, and access to tools and repair manuals.

Marina Services

Marinas provide support for water sport activities with instruction and equipment rental for non-boat owners. Private berthing and retail (bait/tackle/licenses) sales are provided at many locations.

Flying Clubs

Navy Flying Clubs offer active-duty Sailors and other authorized patrons an opportunity to develop skills in aeronautics, including piloting, navigation, aircraft mechanics and other related aero sciences. There are currently eight Navy Flying Clubs at bases around the world. In Navy Region Southeast, a Navy Flying Club is located at NAS Jacksonville.

Liberty Programs

The Liberty Program targets junior Sailors living in the barracks. Skill development classes, special events, trips and tours, and competitions are only a few of the methods used to get Sailors involved in healthy recreational pursuits. The program also manages facilities with computers for Internet and gaming, TVs and movies, music, reading, and games for all junior enlisted personnel.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Navy Galleys

Today’s Navy galleys are a part of the decades-long tradition of providing hearty meals for Sailors at sea and on shore. Primarily serving meals to single Sailors who live on base and do not receive full basic allowance for subsistence, Navy galleys provide essential food services to all uniformed military personnel at Navy installations worldwide.

Over the years, galleys have evolved to reflect popular tastes in ethnic foods, such as Asian, Mexican and Italian cuisine. Many galleys also add a touch of local flavor, while emphasizing healthy meal choices.

Recreational Food Operations

Navy Recreational Food Operations include a variety of concepts, ranging from full-service clubs to quick-service restaurants. There are more than 400 operations worldwide serving the Navy community, including catering and conference centers, pubs, delis, coffee shops and nightclubs.

 

AIR SHOWS

Witness thrills like never before from a variety of military and civilian aerobatic demonstrations at air shows offered throughout the year. Air shows are a proven family outing, which provide FREE, wholesome entertainment at installations throughout Navy Region Southeast.
