Squadrons

The mission of Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville is to, " Enable Warfighter Readiness." Focused directly on support of operational units aboard the base and throughout the fleet, station personnel work around the clock providing services to the fleet.
NAS Jacksonville, a master air and industrial base, consists of more than 120 tenant commands. The installation is home to the P-8A Poseidon which replaced the P-3C Orion, a long-range anti-submarine reconnaissance and maritime patrol aircraft. 
NAS Jacksonville is home to Patrol Squadron Thirty (VP-30), the Navy's largest aviation squadron and the only Poseidon/Orion Fleet Replacement Squadron. VP-30 prepares and trains U.S. and foreign pilots, air crew and maintenance personnel.
Unmanned Patrol Squadron 19, the Navy's first operational MQ-4C Triton squadron, is collocated at NAS Jacksonville and Naval Base Ventura County in Point Mugu, California. Pilots operate the unmanned aircraft based at Point Mugu, from the mission control center at NAS Jacksonville.
Base squadrons also fly the C-130 Hercules and C-40 Clipper which provide logistical support to the fleet.
The station's five helicopter squadrons currently operate the MH-60 Romeo helicopters, which is the world's most advanced maritime helicopter. Units deploy aboard frigates, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers providing anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, combat search and rescue and vertical replenishment.
