Public Works Department Jacksonville manages the maintenance and upkeep of $4.1 billion in infrastructure to include 1670 facilities, three runways, water treatment plan, waste water treatment plant, multiple steam plants, 39 miles of roads, 54 miles of sewer lines, and 75 miles of electrical lines. The department averages a construction contract workload of $225 million and manages one of the Navy’s largest hazardous waste disposal sites within the Continental United States.
