Cmdr. Jason A. Rinto

Commander Rinto, a native of Sulphur, Louisiana enlisted in the United States Navy in the early 90’s reaching the rank of Chief Boatswain’s Mate. In 2004, he was commissioned as a Deck Limited Duty Officer.
At sea, he served aboard USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO (ACB 2), USS Hawes (FFG 53), USS SEATTLE (AOE 3) as the Replenishment at Sea Officer; Assault Craft Unit TWO (ACU 2) as the Detachment Officer-in-Charge for Detachment X-ray which deployed on the USS Saipan (LHA 2), the USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) and the USS Tortuga (LSD 46). The detachment was called upon to sortie in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and was the first to land on the beaches of Biloxi, Mississippi providing humanitarian assistance to the local community as part of DoD’s response effort. Commander Rinto’s proceeding sea tours included USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3) as the Assistant First Lieutenant; USS GREEN BAY (LPD 20) as the First Lieutenant deployed in support of 3rd, 5th and 7th Fleet operations; and USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) as the First Lieutenant deployed in support of Western Pacific operations which included a visit to Da Nang, Vietnam; a U.S. Aircraft Carrier first in over 40 years.
Ashore, he served on the staff of United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) as a Deputy Branch Chief for the J34, Commander Naval Beach Group ONE as the Director of Amphibious Readiness and Training for the Pacific Fleet, Afloat Training Group, Mayport as the Director of Topside Warfare (N80) and as the Director of Operations for Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. In June 2024 he assumed duties as Commanding Officer, Transient Personnel Unit/Pre-Trial Confinement Facility, Jacksonville.
Commander Rinto’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (third award), the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (eighth award), the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eighth award) and various unit and campaign service awards.
