Family Readiness also consists of Child and Youth Programs, such as the Child Development Center, Youth Activities Center and the Child Development Home Program. NAS Jacksonville offers a wide variety of services catering to the needs of military children of all ages. The Child Development Center offers full time and drop-in care for infants through the age of 5 years old and the Youth Activities Center accommodates children from kindergarten age and up. The Child Development Homes are independent business enterprises operated by Navy certified military family members in their own homes.
The School Liaison Program was established under Child and Youth Education Systems (CYES) and falls under the Child and Youth Programs (CYP) umbrella under the Morale Welfare and Recreation of the U.S. Navy. It is designed to help families with PreK-12 Education system navigation. The School Liaison Program serves all branches and is established throughout the Navy.
