The Public Affairs Office gathers, disseminates and coordinates the internal and external public affairs programs of the naval air station and its tenant commands.
Assistance is provided in coordinating and advertising special events or activities of NAS Meridian and its tenant commands including open houses, air shows, changes of command, winging ceremonies, holiday observances and more.
Press releases are prepared and disseminated to local media or Navy-wide publications concerning personnel, events, accidents, and other activities on board the naval air station. The Public Affairs Office also coordinates publication of the base guide, base map and the civilian enterprise newspaper, The Skyline.
Periodic appearances on local radio and television shows are coordinated, and media representatives are welcomed for news conferences, briefings, interviews and coverage of major events.
