Welcome to Naval Air Station Key West's Small Arms Range Facility, where we provide quality support to the fleet.

Range Capabilities
NAS Key West operates a 12-lane small arms range that is capable of conducting qualification fire for all pistol (9mm) and 12-gauge shotgun courses of fire as outlined in OPNAVINST 3591.1.The range is authorized for use for the firing of 5.56mm M16 and other weapons/ammunition combinations that have maximum range distances less than that of the M16 (3400m).

Hours of Operation
Range hours of operation are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Friday is range maintenance day. If you belong to a reserve unit and require small arms qualification please contact us for alternative hours.

Range Responsibilities
NAS Key West's Small Arms Range will provide a qualified Range Safety Officer (RSO).

Visiting Commands' Responsibilities
All shooters must be thoroughly trained in small arms operations as outlined in OPNAVINST 3591.1, prior to arriving at the range.

Visiting commands are required to provide hearing protection, eye protection, targets, weapons, ammunition, qualified Line Coaches and qualified Small Arms Marksmanship Instructors (SAMI) appropriate for the course of fire being conducted. SAMIs must produce a qualification card prior to operating the range.

Outside Agencies
Outside agencies wishing to use the small arms range require a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with NAS Key West. For more information, call (305) 293-2233.
