Commander Todd A. Kamins

A native of Los Angeles, California, he enlisted in the Navy in 1991 through the DIVEFARER program and upon the retirement of the program, struck Boatswain’s Mate and advanced to BM1 before accepting a commission as a Deck Limited Duty Officer.
 
His operational assignments include enlisted tours on the USS Barry (DDG 52), USS Cyclone (PC 1), the UNREP Schoolhouse, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and USS Seattle (AOE 3). Upon commissioning, he was the OIC for detachments DELTA and WHISKEY at ACU TWO embarked on the Nassau (LHA 4) and USS Ashland (LSD 48), Ship’s Bos’n on USS Green Bay (LPD 20), Waterborne OPS at PHIB CB ONE, FIRST LT on USS Anchorage (LPD 23), Deputy Director of Navy Training at EWTGPAC, FIRST LT tours on USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Cmdr. Kamins currently serves as the Executive Officer for Naval Support Activity Charleston.
 
CDR Kamins is married to the former Trisha Mainor of Newport News, Va. She is the SARC/SAPR program manager for MCAS MIRAMAR and a former DoD SAPR of the year (2010). The Kamins make their home in Rancho Penasquitos CA, their oldest child Marcellus is a senior student athlete at Northern Arizona University earning a degree in Marketing and their youngest, Shawn is a sophomore at San Diego City College enrolled in the Plumbing Apprenticeship Program.
 
Commander Kamins is qualified as a Surface and Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (eight awards), Navy Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
