Safety and Occupational Health Office
Mission:
Naval Air Station Pensacola Installation Safety Office serves as an advocate for a safe healthy workplace for our tenant activities and their workforce. Through the extensive use of Risk Management System (RMS), we intend to reduce injuries and illness, reduce occurrence and severity of mishaps, and improve operational readiness. This will be accomplished through the effective implementation and management of the Navy Occupational Safety and Health (NAVOSH) program, participation in the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Challenge, as well as aggressive training and education.

Guiding Principles:
Leaders are committed to providing a safe and healthful working environment, developing and enforcing regulations and policies directed toward the elimination of hazards and unsafe acts. The culture of safety is a mindset that is practiced both on and off duty. Reduce/eliminate safety hazards by identifying, reporting and taking corrective action through proper and effective abatement processes. Every Marine, Sailor, Airman, and Civilian Employee is expected to accept responsibility for their safety and to be an advocate for the safety of others. Every Marine, Sailor, Airman, and Civilian Employee is expected to report unsafe/unhealthful working conditions and behaviors in the workplace. Every Mishap, incident and near-miss will be examined to determine root cause to prevent recurrence.
