NAS Pensacola Access Procedures

In accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) guidance, NAS Pensacola follows the Trusted Traveler Program that allows DoD ID current holders to escort guests onto the installation.

Naval Security Forces (NSF) may perform 100 percent ID checks of all adults entering the installation. Please ensure all personnel have an acceptable form of ID ready when entering to present to the NSF Sentry. All guests without a DoD ID card must be escorted by a person with a current DoD ID card that allows them "escort" privileges (CAC, dependent, military retirees, etc.). DoD ID card holders may escort up to 15 guests (limited to one vehicle with the DoD ID card holder). All non-DoD ID card holder adults must have at least one of the following and remain escorted while aboard the installation:

  • Non-CAC Local or Regional DoD Credential issued by the local installation or region
  • REAL ID-compliant driver's license, enhanced driver's license, or non-driver's identification card issued by a State, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia
  • U.S. or Foreign Passport or Passport Card
  • Travel Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC)
  • Federal PIV

For additional questions on access, please contact the Visitor Control Center at (850) 452-4153.

Guidelines for Veteran visitors who possess a valid VA Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC)

Commissary, Navy Exchange (NEX) and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) retail facility privileges are extended to eligible veterans and their caregivers. Veterans who have a VHIC that states they are a Medal of Honor or Purple Heart recipient, a former Prisoner of War (POW), or indicates they have a service-connected disability are permitted to use these facilities on the installation. All eligible VHIC cardholders MUST stop at the NAS Pensacola Visitor Control Center (VCC) to enroll in the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) before entering the installation the first time. Primary family caregivers can also present their letter of eligibility from the VA at the VCC and enroll in DBIDS for installation access. VHIC cardholders will need to bring their VHIC card, and a picture ID (i.e., driver’s license, U.S. Passport or any other REAL ID).

***Veterans with VHIC cannot escort other guests on NAS Pensacola***
