Check-In/Processing

Command Sponsor & Indoctrination Program

NAS JRB Fort Worth is made up of approximately 40 separate commands. Please contact your gaining command to inquire about their sponsorship and indoctrination program, as each service’s policy may be completely different and may be subject to change without notice to this Web site. Many commands may also have a welcome aboard package or a PCS check-in sheet. For additional information on sponsorship, contact the Fleet & Family Support Center at (817) 782-5470/5287 or DSN 312-739-5470/5287.

Sponsorship

If you are a First Termer and are flying into DFW International Airport, you should make arrangements for your sponsor to meet you at the airport or provide you with information on alternative modes of travel to the base.

To forward your mail to NAS JRB Fort Worth, your sponsor can present a copy of your orders and apply for a personal mail box for you at the Post Office, Bldg. 1509. You can also call the base post office at (817) 782-6387 or DSN 312-739-6387 and request a P.O. Box Number. You can then forward your mail to your P.O. Box. There is no charge for this service. This is a military P.O. Box. You will be required to show your orders upon arrival at the base in order to receive the combination to the box. If you reside on base, this will remain your base mail address. If you move off base, you will be required to forward your mail to your new address.

Temporary Quarters

The base operates on a Monday through Friday schedule. During drill weekends, reservists receive priority for billeting onboard NAS JRB Fort Worth. Billeting is usually more available during the week on a Space-A basis. To make reservations for billeting call 1-877-NAVY-BED (628-9233).

NAS JRB Fort Worth has combined bachelor quarters at (817) 782-3388 and DSN 312-739-3388. The fax number is (817) 782-3390. The Navy Gateway Inn & Suites has nine family suites and 126 rooms available. There are also camp grounds in the area.

 

Critical Installation Information

 

Delayed Reporting

In case of an emergency while in route to this installation, contact the nearest active duty base of ANY service. If delayed in reporting, contact the Quarter Deck at (817) 782-7152 or DSN 312-739-7152, or the American Red Cross toll free number, (877) 272-7337. If you are delayed, you must report your status as soon as possible.

 

Check-In Procedures

Reporting Procedures

All new arrivals to the base should report to their unit of assignment for new arrival check-in instructions.

If you are unsure of where you should "check-in" for your new command or if you check aboard during normal working hours, please report to the Quarterdeck located in Bldg. 1510 Chennault Ave., (817) 782-7152. After hours contact the Command Duty Officer at (817) 825-4079.

If you are on Official PCS Orders to NAS JRB Fort Worth, you will receive priority for temporary housing accommodations. Please contact CBH and make lodging reservations prior to your arrival. The Consolidated Base Housing (CBH) reservations number is (817) 782-5483 or DSN 312-739-5483.

If you check aboard during normal working hours, please report to your Command's Administration Office. If you check aboard after normal working hours, contact the Command Duty Officer at (817) 825-6403.

What To Do If You Get Married Enroute?

If you get married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.

Travel Planning

You can make reservations for the Navy Inn onboard NAS JRB Fort Worth by calling (877) NAVY-BED (628-9233). NAS JRB Fort Worth also has a beautiful Navy Lodge on board.
