Commander Tristan V. Oliveria immigrated to San Francisco, CA from the Philippines and enlisted in the Navy in 1993 as an Electronics Technician.
His operational sea tours include his first ship as a Radar Technician onboard USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG-57), Division Officer tours onboard USS INGRAHAM (FFG-61), Operations Officer tours onboard USS RENTZ (FFG-46) and USS ANTIETAM (CG-54), Strike Officer for Carrier Strike Group NINE embarked onboard USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN- 72), and as the Damage Control Assistant onboard USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN-76) forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan.
His shore tours include assignment as the Lead Exercise Planner and Fleet Scheduler at Naval Forces Europe/Africa, SIXTH Fleet, as well as Special Assistant to the Commander, Allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy, the Director of Damage Control and Firefighting at Surface Warfare Schools Command San Diego, and the Executive Officer of Naval Support Activity Deveselu, Romania. His most recent tour was the Executive Officer of Naval Base San Diego.
Commander Oliveria earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Oceanography form the U.S. Naval Academy in 2001 and his Master's of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School in 2006.
