Hurricane Information
Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30, but it’s never too early to prepare. Hurricanes have been known to develop as early as May and as late as December.
STAY INFORMED. We will do our best to keep you aware of pending hurricane conditions. Please visit Naval Support Activity Panama City on Facebook for current updates. However, local news stations will have the latest information concerning news and weather reports.
For family planning, how to build an emergency "go" kit, or how to stay informed during a natural disaster or emergency situation go to Ready Navy.
During a state of emergency, Bay County Emergency Operations Center is responsible for issuing evacuations, providing disaster housing, emergency shelters, debris management, damage assessments, emergency fuel, floodplain management, wildfire protection, and homeland security. The EOC also manages the county's emergency notification website Alert Bay.
WKGC (90.7 FM) operated by Gulf Coast State College converts to the county's emergency broadcast system and provides official information released by the county EOC.
Be safe. Be prepared. Take the necessary steps now. Do not wait until a hurricane condition to plan a course of action.
