Mission:
Naval Support Activity Charleston is a Commander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC) administrative support command assigned to Commander, Naval Region Southeast (CNRSE) and is located on the Joint Base Charleston Naval Weapons Station. Naval Support Activity Charleston was established as an “Embedded Military Unit” in the Joint Base Charleston 628th Air Base Wing where assigned Navy personnel are embedded operationally into the Air Base Wing installation support Squadrons in the direct support of their missions. The joint base construct assigned the Naval Support Activity Charleston Commanding Officer as the Deputy Commander of the Joint Base Charleston 628th Air Base Wing responsible to the Wing Commander for the base installation support operations.
Scope:
The Naval Support Activity Charleston Area of Responsibility (AOR) encompasses the geographical area of Joint Base Charleston within which all activities of the Department of the Navy in the Charleston area are located.
Overview:
Naval Support Activity Charleston provides Navy unique CNIC administrative support services to eight Navy tenant commands and twelve Navy activities and program offices on Joint Base Charleston. The majority of support services and functions are provided by the Air Force installation support squadrons under Air Force instructions and policies.
