Command Master Chief James C. Wallace, a native of Phoenix, Arizona, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1993. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Illinois, where he completed apprenticeship training.
Sea duty assignments include: 1st Force Service Support Group where he deployed with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, Beach Master Unit One, 3rd Marine Air Wing; Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (2 missions), USS Ross (DDG 71), and USS Oak Hill (LSD 51).
Shore duty assignments include: Branch Medical Clinic Memphis, TN and Instructor Duty at Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Illinois.
Command Master Chief tours include: Naval Weapons Station Earle, New Jersey, Navy Recruiting District Chicago, Staff Command Master Chief at Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa, Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet, USS Shiloh (CG-67), Chief, Destroyer Squadron Fifteen and Task Force Seven One and is currently serving as Command Master Chief of Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Master Chief Wallace is a graduate of the Surface Force Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman School, U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 168, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, USFF CSEL-ELS course, and NDU Keystone 18-2. He qualified Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare, Fleet Marine Force, and Master Training Specialists.
His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
