Command Master Chief Sean Bohanan joined the Navy out of Baltimore, MD, reported to basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes in September 1997. He completed Aviation Electronics Technician “A” school in Pensacola, FL in June 1998.
His duty assignment include AIMD Willow Grove, PA, HCS-5, Fire Hawks, San Diego, CA where he deployed multiple times in support of "Operation Iraqi Freedom". FRC Willow Grove, PA; HSC-85, High Rollers/Fire Hawks, San Diego, CA. Command Senior Chief at Navy Operational Support Center, Salt Lake City, UT, Maintenance Senior Chief at VAQ-209, Star Warriors, Whidbey Island, WA, and as Senior Enlisted Leader at Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic Detachment Washington, Naval Air Facility Washington, Joint Base Andrews, MD. Command Master Chief at VAQ-209, Star Warriors, Whidbey Island, WA completing two USINDPACOM deployments in support of Seventh Fleet. His last tour before joining Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth was at Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command Fort Worth.
Master Chief Bohanan’ s academic achievements include a Certificate in Leadership, an associate’s degree in Electronics, a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and a Master of Science in Leadership. He also, attended the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Academy; the Navy’s CMC/COB course and holds the following US Department of Labor Journeyman’s Licenses, Electronics Mechanic, Electronics Tester, Computer Operator, and Counselor (Professional and Kindred). He is also an H-60 and an E/A-18G Maintenance Master Qualifier.
His decorations include the Meritorious Serve Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
Master Chief Bohanan has three adult children and four grandchildren.
