Captain Bill Dull

From Charleston, South Carolina, Captain Bill Dull graduated with distinction in 2001 from the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Materials Science.  He completed Naval Nuclear Power training in 2002 and earned a Master of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore in 2008.
Captain Dull's sea tours include serving as a junior officer on USS CHARLOTTE (SSN 766); Engineer Officer on USS OKLAHOMA CITY (SSN 723); and Executive Officer on USS ALASKA GOLD (SSBN-732).  He commanded USS ALASKA BLUE (SSBN-732) in Kings Bay, Georgia.  During his career he deployed to the Western Pacific multiple times and completed eight strategic deterrent patrols.  During his service on USS ALASKA the ship earned retention excellence awards each year, multiple Battle Efficiency “E” awards, two USSTRATCOM Omaha Trophies as the best SSBN in the Navy, and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Ashore, Captain Dull served as flag aide to CTF-73 / COMLOGWESTPAC / Commander Navy Region Singapore in Singapore; as Deputy Chief of Staff for Maintenance and Logistics (N4) for CTF-74 / CTF-54 / Commander, Submarine Group SEVEN in Yokosuka, Japan; and with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) as the Operations Support Department Head at the RAN Submarine Force Headquarters in Perth, Western Australia as part of the Personnel Exchange Program.  Most recently Captain Dull served as the Operations, Training, and Evaluation Branch Head at Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, DC.
Captain Dull’s personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service medal (four awards), Navy Commendation medal (three awards), and the Navy Achievement medal (three awards).  While serving in Australia he was awarded the Meritorious Honor Award by the US Ambassador to Australia and the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Commander’s Commendation Silver level.
