CMDCM(SW/AW/SG/IW) Jessee Hess

Command Master Chief Jessee Hess was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and reported for active duty at Recruit Training Command Orlando, Florida, in August 1993. After completing boot camp, he reported to Cryptologic Technician Technical ‘A’ School at Naval Technical Training Center Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida, and then attended Classic Wizzard ‘C’ School at Naval Security Group Activity Winter Harbor, Maine.

In August 1994, Master Chief Hess reported to his first duty station at NCTC Diego Garcia and followed that with tours at Naval Security Group Detachment Denver and USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) out of Mayport, Florida, where he completed a Persian Gulf deployment.

In July 2001, Hess reported to NSGA, Fort Meade, Maryland, serving as a MESAP student. Upon graduation from MESAP, he reported to the CIA for independent duty and later received his associate degree from Anne Arundel Community College in 2005.

In October 2007, Hess reported to Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii and deployed on USS Pasadena (SSN 752), USS Columbus (SSN 762), USS Bremerton (SSN 698), USS Connecticut (SSN 22), USS Key West (SSN 722) and USS Louisville (SSN 724). Hess reported to the United States Naval Academy in December 2010 and received his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in 2011. In April 2014, he graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 179) and reported to USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77).

In March 2015, Master Chief Hess was selected for the Command Master Chief program and reported to USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) in Norfolk, Virgina. In March 2017, he moved back to Colorado to become the Navy Information Operations Command Colorado CMC. He became the CMC at Naval Air Station Key West in July 2020.

CMDCM Hess’ awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation (3), Joint Service Achievement (2), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement (3), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and other various unit and service awards.
