Mr. Boensel had a long and successful career as a naval officer which included command of Navy Region Mid-Atlantic, Navy Region Southeast, and Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. Additionally, significant other duty assignments include service as the Navy's uniformed lead on environmental readiness and as Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense and Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense (Policy).
Leveraging his experience as an effective leader and manager, Mr. Boensel founded Boensel Consulting Services, LLC in 2012, providing leadership, management, research, and advisory services to a wide variety of clients.
As Vice President for Operations and Senior Project Manager for two small business entrepreneurs, Mr. Boensel provided in depth advice on installation infrastructure and government contracting that materially assisted in successfully competing for and executing numerous government contracts.
Mr. Boensel, served for two terms on the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and served as the Chairman of the Chamber's Military Affairs Committee which recommended and advocated for actions that the Jacksonville business community could readily adopt to better support the military service members and their families in the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia area.
Mr. Boensel has also served as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Routel, Inc., a provider of advanced cyber-security solutions for mobile devices to the government and private sector.
Mr. Boensel holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and three Masters degrees in Business Administration, Internal Relations and National Security and Strategic Studies, respectively.
Mr. Boensel assumed his position as Executive Director in September 2018.
