CMDCM(AW/SW) Eric M. McDermott

Command Master Chief McDermott is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  He enlisted in the United States Navy in 2000 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.  Following basic training, he attended Aviation Structural Mechanic “A” School in Pensacola, Florida.  Upon graduation, he reported to Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Fifteen in Jacksonville, Florida.

Master Chief McDermott’s duty assignments include Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Fifteen (HS-15) Jacksonville, Florida, Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATTU JAX) Jacksonville, Florida, a Plankowner at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Seven Zero (HSM-70) Jacksonville, FL, Navy Recruiting District New Orleans (NRS Monroe) Monroe, Louisiana, Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Four Eight (HSM-48) Mayport, Florida, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eight (HSC-8) San Diego, California, and Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (Blue Angels) Pensacola, Florida.

He is an honor graduate from the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 200 – Khaki) and the Naval Leadership and Ethics CMC/COB Course (Class 187).  He attended Post University and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

His qualifications include Master Training Specialist.  His personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (seven awards), and various unit and campaign awards.

October 2023, Command Master Chief McDermott assumed his duties onboard Naval Air Station Whiting Field Milton, Florida.
