CMDCM(SS) Tracy M. Crihfield

Command Master Chief Tracy Crihfield is a native of Clendenin, West Virginia. He enlisted in the Navy in 1996 as submarine Sonar Technician.
Upon completion of Recruit Training, he attended “A” school and submarine school in Groton, Connecticut.
Crihfield reported to his first command USS WEST VIRGINIA (SSBN 736)(Blue) at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in August 1997.
His next command was aboard USS MARYLAND (SSBN 738)(Gold). Other sea commands include: USS WYOMING (SSBN 742)(Blue) and USS RHODE ISLAND (SSBN 740)(Blue).
He served as Chief of the Boat aboard USS TENNESSEE (SSBN 734)(Gold) and USS GEORGIA (SSGN 729)(Gold), where he contributed to the successful integration of enlisted women on submarines.
Throughout his career he completed 25 strategic deterrent patrols in support of multiple operations.
His shore commands include Commander, Submarine Squadron 20 and SMMS/PMT Kings Bay. He previously served as the Command Master Chief of Strategic Weapons Facility, Atlantic (SWFLANT) and received the Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Award two years in a row.
Crihfield assumed his current duties as Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Command Master Chief in August 2023.
He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (three Awards), Navy commendation Medal (three Awards), Navy Achievement Medal (seven Awards), Naval Heritage Award, and two-time Rayburn Award.
Crihfield and his wife Tressa have two adult children and live in Kingsland, Georgia.
