Command Master Chief Jason Forward

Native of Rochester, NY. Upon graduation of high school in La Plata, MD, he enlisted in the Navy in 1998. He graduated from Basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Job Oriented Basic Skills (JOBS) at Naval Station Great Lakes, Surface Sonar Technician “A” School, Basic Acoustic Analysis and AN/SQQ-89 4/6/10 “C” School in San Diego, CA.
His first duty station was aboard the USS TAYLOR (FFG 50), here he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist designation. Master Chief Forward then reported to Afloat Training Group San Diego, for duty as a Shipboard Trainer and Afloat Assessor. While there, he certified as a Master Training Specialist and Afloat Training Specialist. Master Chief Forward reported for duty at Destroyer Squadron Fifty (DESRON 50) Manama, Bahrain in 2008 as the Supply Leading Chief and Staff Training Officer. Master Chief Forward then reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes for duty as a Recruit Division Commander. He served as the Ship’s (Barracks) Leading Chief Petty Officer of the USS ARLEIGH BURKE in charge of training Special Warfare Recruit ratings. Master Chief Forward reported to USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99), as the Weapons Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and Sonar Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. While stationed onboard FARRAGUT, he was advanced and selected as a Command Master Chief. He has previously served as the Command Master Chief onboard USS STOUT (DDG 55) and USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58).
He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief at TPU/PCF Jacksonville, FL. Master Chief Forward is a graduate of U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 176 (Brown Group), and is a recipient of the 2015 Navy and Marine Corps Association Leadership Award.
Master Chief Forward’s military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards), Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 awards), Recruit Training Service Ribbon and numerous unit citation and service awards.
